The new battery-grade lithium hydroxide refining South Texas facility will be the "first of its kind in North America," a portion of the Texas Comptroller documents said. The new facility will support other types of battery materials processing, refining, and manufacturing and ancillary manufacturing operations in support of Tesla’s product line.
"This is positive growth for Robstown, Corpus Christi and the entire region," said Gomez. "Other businesses are looking to invest in the area to support the plant and its more jobs and opportunities for families in the South Texas area."
